David Robertson. — Claim, £1 9s, being amount'due on judgnvut summons.—Defendant, who did not apnear. was ordered to pay tho amount forthwith, with costs (ss), or, yt default, two days' imprisonment. CITY POLICE COURT. (Before H. Y. Widdowson, Esq., S.M.I Drunkenness. —-Johanna Trinder pleaded fiiilty to drunkenness and to procuring liquor during the currency of a prohibition order. —Senior-sergeant Darts aid this was accused's third breach of the order.—On the charge of drunkenness the Magistrate imposed a line of 205., in default seven days' imprisonment; and on the charge of the breach of the order a fine of 40s, in default 14 days' imprisonment. A male first ohendor.'for inebriation, who did not appear, was fined 10s, in default 24 hours' imprisonment. Theft of a Bicycle.—William Hugh Davis, a youth, was charged that, on January 25, at Merton. he did steal a bicycle, valued at £l4 10s, the property of 'William Fraser. Accused pleaded (Tuilty.—Chief-detective. Herbert said that on January 24 the complainant left his bicycle outside his dwelling-house at Merton, and next morning it was missing. Tho accused, who worked on a farm close by, had taken if, boarded the train at Evansdale, and brought it to Dunedin, where he attempted to sell it to Messrs Gaudin and Marr. However, they recognised it as a bicycle which they had idven on the time-payment system, and fur wliie.li they had never receiver] the money, so they' took possession of it. The accused got nothing for the bicycle.—Mr Axelsen said he would undertake to look after accused in tho future. —The accused was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence any time during the next 12 months if called upon.
