[Per United Press Association.] CHRTSTCHUnCH. January 25. At, the. sitting of the University Senate this morning Sir G. Maurice O'Rorke mowed—"That the application of the Auckland University College regarding the. recognition of second year's work for the degree course in engineerins undertaken at that college be, recognised by the Senate." This was seconded bv the Hon. J. A. Tole. The discussion lasted two hours. Professor Scott strongly onposed the motion. Ho said that the Institute of Civil Engineers would have to reconsider their recognition of the. New Zealand University civil engineering degrees if th-3 Senate agreed. The. motion was lost bv 16 votes to 8.
