HAYWARDS' PICTURES. 'The pictorial version of Charles Dickens's immortal ' David Copperfield' delighted a large attendance again last evening. The various well-known characters of the tale aae well impersonated, and lose little of their personalities in their change from page to screen. *• David Copperfield' -will be shown again to-night-.' FULLERS' PICTURES. Largo attendances nightly fill the King's Theatre, and receive with unetinted approval the pictures that are screened. 'The Masked Dancer' heads the present programme, which will be shown again to-night. QUEEN'S THEATRE. Included in the current programme at the Queen's is 'A Man's Soul,' a striking dramatic subject. "The Girl Across the Hull' and ' The Ghamjpion Swordsman of the British Army' are two other good films. The programme will be repeated to-night. PLAZA PICTURES. "The Gambler' the chief picture now showing at tho Plaza Theatre. The supporting films are all of good, quality, and worthy of their places on the programme. The same pictures will be shown to-night, SKATING RINK. Skating enthusiasts are making the b*fet of the remaining sessions at the rink, as iasl evening the floor was. the scene of a moving throng. Only this* more chances to go on the "" wheel-*," as the rink is closing for ret tain on Saturday. DUNEDIN PHILHARMONIC CONCERT. The above concert, to lie held in the Garrison Hall this evening, promises to be a musical treat. The whole of the door takings will be handed to the Huntly mining distaste* fund. A fine programme has been arranged. The great attraction is the military caprice composed by Signor Squarise especially for this concert. This work is descriptive of the great war now waging in Europe. The national anthems of the, allied nations are cleverly introduced.' This selection is bound to cause enthusiasm. The programme also includes several interesting orchestral numbers, and Mies Jvy Mazengarb will recite "England Goes to Battle' (Morsey), and during the interval "Give, (live, Give,' when a collection in aid of the Huntly fund will be taken up- Mr W. Gemmoll will lie heard in Schumann's 'Two Grenadiers.' ANDERSON BAY GLEE CIAJB. At the repeat performance last evening of the Glee Club's eighth concert the halt was rilled to overflowing with a very appreciative audience. The programme was the game a.s on Tuesday, and of the Glee Club's numbers the "Bridal Chorus' and ■Maritana' were specially enjoyable. The vocal soloist* (Miss Mabel Kequilant and Mr W. E. M'Kiulay) were in good form, and had to respond to encores, their en core duet rousing the audience to great en thusiiism. ' Mr L. Swan .was very successful in his violin solos, and waa heartily encored. The accompaniments were played hy Mrs J. Reid (club's pianist). Miss Gladys Stoneham, and Mr C'has. S. Martin. Alter the concert the members were entertained at supper by the president, Mr J. B. Shacklock, and a* very happy gathering closed.the season's work.
