TIME OF THE END.
10 THE EDITOR. Sir,—As I am a believer in BritishIsrael truth, I have been very much interested in the articles dealing with the title above. I am sorry to say I don't agree with the writers of these articles, because I think their foundation is all wrong, and if so, the. whole.structure has to he taken down and reconstructed. For instance, they say the " seven times" spoken of in Leviticus xxvi. is a chronological formula meaning seven times 350 (mean time), equal to 2,520 day years. Now, if any ordinary person will take the trouble to turn up the, chapter referred to, he will see at a glance that the term "'seven times " does not mean a period of duration, btit plagues of humiliation. The same term appears in Daniel iv., 25, where we are told that ''seven times'' were to pass over Nebuchadnezzar. Now, if "seven limes" was a chronological term meaning 560 day years, Nebuohadnezzar would have been living up to the ond of the last century. If we turn to the fifth chapter of Daniel we will find that it is not periods but plagues that are expressed by the term "seven times." In the 20th and 21st verses we have these enumerated, as follows: —Ho was deposed, they took his glory from him; he was driven from the sons of men ; his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses, they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven. Then, in Leviticus xxvi. we have the plagues also mentioned. Here these are: Terror, consumption, burning ague slain by their enemies, "they that hate you shall reign over you," "ye shall flee when none* pnrsueth you." And notonly so. but the term "seven times" is repeated four times after the first seven plagues, and these all mean new and separate instances of chastisement, so that if we multiply 2,520 by 5 we. get 12,600, and accordingly the "time of the end" will not- be for 10,000 years yet. I could point out a multitude of other defects, but I will refrain.—l* am, etc.. Not Deceived. Septemhor 25.
