CITY EDITION MAIL NOTICE.

Northern Ports (overland).—6.3o a.m. and 10.30 a.m. daily. Christchurch and Intermedia te Towns (overland). —6.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. at the C.P.O-; late letters, 7.40 a.m. and 8 a.m. (train); 10.45 a.m. and 11.15 a.m. (train"). Invercargill and Intermediate Towns, — 7.30 a.m. and 3.45 p.m. at the C.P.0.; late letters, 8 a.m. and 8.20 a.m. (train^; 4 p.m. and 4.25 p.m. (train). For Greymouth, Hokitika, and Reeftoa. —Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, at 10.30 a.m. For Cromwell, Clyde, Ranfurly, Naseby via Ranfurly, and intermediate offices, daily at 6.30 a.m.; late letters on guard's Tan 7.45 a.m. Late-fee letters only must bear Id in addition to the ordinary postage. Registered letter mails close one hour ar " newspaper printed matter and sample packets, etc., 30 minutes earlier than ordinary letter mails. The posting boxes on the. second express being available for Jate-fee letters only, all books and packets must be posted at the chief office. For Australian States, Japan, China, Straits Settlements, Mauritius, South Africa, etc., via Bluff (per south express), at 7.30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 25. Money orders issued till 4 p.m. "on the 24th, and registered articles accepted till 7 p.m. on the 24th. Late letters at C.P.O. till 8 a.m., and on mail van till 8.55 a.m. For Lytteltoti and Christcmrrch (per Victoria), at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25. Late-fee letters, 2 p.m. on board. N.B.—Mails for New- South Wales, Queensland, United States of America, Canada. West Indies, United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, etc., close at Auckland on Monday, 24th inst., at 4 p.m. _ There will bo no despatch of San Francisco or Vancouver mails on next timetable dates. Wm.
