DRAINAGE BOARD REPORTS
Th? Works Committee report that tenders were dealt with for contracts as follows:—No. A 467, Mills street and Driver's road (Beadle), for £25; No. A-168, Mills street and Driver's road (Marks), for £23 10s: No; A-169, Wilkie street and Main South road, for £l7; and No. 666, deviation {Jrunel street, for £39, Messrs Maitland and Butters' s tender for these works being accepted. In regard to contract No. 073 (Corstorphine reticulation), the committee had authorised the construction by day labor, together with extra work in Embo and Murray streets. This would involve an additional expenditure of £162 in excess of that provided in the estimate for work remaining in the area, and the committee recommended the authorisation of this additional expenditure. Tenders had been jnrited for contracts J?o. 675, Pretoria avenue reticulation j No. A-17Q, Moreau street and Victoria road and No. A-171, Young street and Prince Albert road. The reinstatement of storm water drain, L»?ng street, was authorised, and the engineer had been instructed to prepare contract, plans for the foreshore drain. Works in Progress: Day labor was employed on contracts No. 661, Dalmore extension; No. 685, Balmacewen retieulation; and on repairs to David street sewer. Contract work was in operation at Mornington, Upper Albany street (completed), and Hanover street. The Finance Committee report that the sum of £1,519 (which included an increase in overdraft of £1,050) had been paid into the credit of the board's aggregate fund,' and £6O into tha credit of the trust account, The passbooks"*shpwed: account (debit). £25375; aggregated mid (credit), £876; and trust account (credit), £203.
