ST. KILDA COUNCIL.

TO Tin-; EDITOR. Sir, —The St. Kilda borough cnancilloWi especially those who live in Musselburgh and imposed lating on unimproved values and a bi.T loan on us, are very fond of talking iii public about our progressiva little borough, etc. I slioirid like these ficntlenion to leave thnir asphalt pavements and macadamised roads £o:-ne evenin" and take a stroll over to Park Wand, where they would not find much to be nroud of. There is not a single street, and verv few footpaths, m Park Ward that are fit to ride a bicycle on. The roads one and all are inches deep in mud, and a few odd loads of rotten at some of the crossings is all th.it is being doled out. to us out of the £25,000 loan. It is verv easv for the Mayor to say : "We v.-i:l fix all vour streets when you have nil connected" with the drains," but I am afraid bv that tiir.e all the money will be scent. " In the meantime we are being heavily taxed for the benefit of the ratepayers of Musselburgh, who are bavin- everything they require. I enggeit that en indignation "meeting of Park Ward ratepayers fee held at an early date, and a deputation be appointed to wait trpon the council and try to bring about a more satisfactory state of affairs.—l am, etc,, MoKEAr Steeet. July 9.
