It is written in that bombastically heroic vein that provokes to laughter. “ Were these things the predestinating signs of a great future? Psychologists will affirm as much ; nevertheless, Caxpentiers heart swelled to the possibilities of one day entering a ring and therein laying the embryonic commencement of a great career.” This vein—tha ’Ercles vein—is maintained throughout the 70 pages. ‘ • The ‘Review’ (University of Otago) con-' tains 80 pages of readable news and articles. Among the latter are ‘Dr Scott: An Appreciation,’ by Dr Colqu-houn ; ‘ University Life: A Retrospect,’ by Miss F. M. Allan: and ‘ Reminiscences of W. H. Harris’ (late R.N.).
‘The Sheep and Wool Industry of Australasia,’ by Henry B. Smith, is a practical handbook for sheep fanners and woolclassers, with chapters on wool buying and selling, sheepskins, and kindled products. The chapter headings sufficiently ■indicate the contents. These in-dud© ‘Australian Sheep History,’ ‘-Shearing,’ Wool-cJaesiug,’ ‘Wool-selling,’ ‘Woolbuying,’ and the like. There are some 60 photographs, the whole helping to form, with the addition of pood paper, clear typo, strong binding, and ornamental cloth covers, a substantial and attractively got-up publication.
