YOUNG WAREHOUSEMAN’S WINDFALL

The will of tho late Mr James Rhodes, tii Bolton Royd, Manuingham, Bradford, is particularly interesting so far as at least one of the chief beneficiaries is concerned. The gross value of the estate is £574,556, and tiro net value £553.626. One of the two executors is Mr John Rhodes, a nephew of the testator, of Bankticld, Heaton, Bradford, and the residue of the estate is given to Mr Timothy Rhodes, Mr John "Rhodes, and Mr Frederick William Jowett Rhodes, in equal shares, which means that they will each receive about £169,000. The Mr John Rhodes mentioned above was a warehouseman In the employ' of Messrs A. and S. Henry and Co., Ltd., merchants, of Leeds road, Bradford, until shortly before Christmas last year, at a salary of about 50s a week, and resided with his family at 5 Clarendon place, Bradford, a comparatively small house. When Mr Rhodes gave up his position at the end of last year it was rumored that he had inherited a quarter of a million; but when approached by representatives of the Press he declined to make any statement. Since then he has removed to a delightfully-situ-ated old house, Banktield, Heaton, Bradford, which is surrounded by attractive grounds, and with a fine outlook on to the Ilkley Moors. (Mr Rhodes is a little past middle age.
