CAVERSHAM CLUB. The directors of the Give wham Bowling Club. Limited, report for the 12 months ended May 31 as follows: —Wc have pleasure in announcing a substantial increase in tho membership of the ch<b th°re hsving been an accession of no less than 20 members, of whom 13 are full and 7 hrnorary. The total membership of the club is now 70. Of the years subscription* only five were outstanding at ihe end of the year ; since then some of these have been paid. Ihe cuiTent account shows receipts amounting to £l4O 15s 4d and an expenditure of £99 5s 3d. The credit balance, however, was absorbed in ihe expenditure in connection with the new pavilion, and for the same reason the overdraft was slightly increased. At an extraordinary general meeting held last August it was decided to demolish the old pavilion, and to erect a more commodious building in its place, at an estimated cost of £3OO. The members were asked to take up debentures so as to enable the building to be erected. A cenerous response was made to this appeal, £290 being subscribed in a very short time. The pavilion wru; erected and fullv furnished in tiruo for the opening of the season. In order to reduce the liabilities of the club it is proposed to hold a bazaar in October next. Strong committees have been formed, and the ladies are working energetically to ensure success*. We are ylad to report that the ereen steadily improves year by year. Under the heading " asre'ts" may bo mentioned the installation of a bi'.liard table, which, by the arrangement made by four of tho members, will shortlv become the club's property free of debt, 'ilie Saturday players took part in 25 games, of which thev won 10, drew 2, and lost 13. Out of the' 13 matches played by the Wednesday players they won 7 and lost 6.
