The Postal, Telegraph, and General Civil Service Bbfievolent Society have adopted the recommendation of the actuary (Mr Turner) and',reduced their benefit®. Mr Turner reported that, owing to a miscalculation, not to frauds, in tne friendly society’s records, the society had .a deficiency of £883,000 A in their funds. It would be necessary, in order to pay the promised benefits, to obtain increased contributions, or largely to.reduce the benefits. . ■' ■
