A Timaru party, five in number, who had been skating in’ Wr.imaie. were returning in a car driven by John Petrie, of Lavmes garage at midnight when the car ran into an object lying on the road near Makikihi. It was thought to be a bag of coni, but examination showed that the car had paseed over the body of a man _ Ibe party returned and informal the Maimate police. The roan was found to be fll»m Quinn, single, aged 25. son of Mr W. Quinn, a well-known farmer and bnckiralter He was dead when picked up.
