CONFIDENCE IN MR REED. [Per United Press Association.] "RUSSELL, June 11. Mr Vernon Reed, M.P. for the Bay of Islands, addressing his constituents, had a most successful meeting, at which the following resolution .was carried almost unanimously :—“ That this meeting protest against the action of the Bay of Islands Reform League in nominating a Government candidate (Mr Wilkinson) for the electorate after having agreed to leave the final choice to the Prime Minister. This meeting further protest against tho league asserting that they represent the Government vote in the electorate.” The meeting passed a vote of thanks and confidence in Mr Reed.
