OAMARU UNDER NO-LICENSE.
TO THE EDITOS. Sir, —In my letter which appeared in your paper last evening a mistake occurs, either through an error on the part of the printer or a mistake in my copy. I am made to say that during the period of No-license eight new (buildings have been erected in Oamaru. This is manifestly wrong; it should read “eight new public buildings.” This, of course, includes such buildings as the Town Hall, Druids Hall, Ambulance Hall, Church of Christ, etc. The new shops and houses that bare been erected in this period are simply too numerous to mention. I have been in Oamaru ever since No-license was carried, and X have never known the day that people did not have to scramble for bouses. Yet now houses have been going up all the time, and are still going up; for at the present moment, considering its size, Oamaru, in the (building line, is one of the‘busiest tojrns in New Zealand. —I am, etc.. T. H. Mathxeson. '.Tihia IX
