GOOD TEMPLARY

The Pioneer of Dunedin Lodge of Good Templars held their. weekly session last evening in the Lower Burns Hall. Tho chair was occupied by Ero. Ed ward Cameron, Chief Templar, and there was a very' large attendance. A very short business meeting was .held, after which the officers and members of the Hope of Dunedin Tent, 1.0 R., were officially received. There were also a large number of menv be is of the .North-east Valley, Roslyn, and South Dunedin Rechabite members present. The Acting Chief Ruler, Bro. R. Parrant, occupied a seat on the platform. The Chief Templar heartily welcomed the visitors, and expressed the hope that the evening would be pleasantly and profitably spent. Bro. Fairant, in responding, thanked the Pioneer Lodge for their kind invitation and welcome, and urged upon those present the desirability of joining a benefit lodge. The Rechabites, he claimed, were the. strongest Temperance benefit lodge in the world Bro. Fan-ant, in referring to the recent church parade, spoke appreciatively of the welcome received at the Hanover Street Baptist Church, and also of the very fine practical address given by the P.ev. R. E. Gray. Several Templars and Rechabites heartily endorsed Bro. Farrant’s remarks. The evening was spent in social intercourse and harmony. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to the Reehabites for attending, the performers for their help, and tho Pioneer members for their hospitality.
