•Essex’s second innings was declared closed at 277 for three, wickets (Rev. F. H. Gillingham 121). Surrey were- dismissed for 86. and were defeated by 334 rune.
Douglas (six wickets for 60, and five for 38) and Tiemlin (four for 68 and five for 47) bowled without change throughout Surrey's two innings.
