The Story of a Great London Surgeon’s Experiments to Cure Constipation and Auto-Intoxication. Through the wards of a jrreat London hospital pass, annually, thousands of people. The magazines have reported how a famous surgeon attending this hospital examined thousands of cases, and, his judgment was that the great majority of men and women suffer from soma internal weakness—often the unsuspected cause of serious illness. It is not a food—nothing but a natural and safe internal lubricant. Almost everybody suffers more or less from , auto-intoxioation—the results of constipation. First come headaches. Then come a variety of other annoying symptoms that eventually develop into some distinct form of disease. Operating for Melancholia. » The magazine reports state how a woman came to the hospital in question in a deplorable state of health, apparently dying. She was thin, could take no food, and was covered with open sores. Tile noted surgeon operated and found that part of her colon (.sometimes known as the ox-bow) was in a bad way, so he cut it clean away and joined up the ends. Within twenty-four hours the ' patient ceased to he melancholic. In a short while the natural processes began again and she improved rapidly. Meanwhile her sores, which had not been treated at nil, healed up, her spirits rose, mid by and by she departed happy and well. Her case, and others of the same order which followed, became famous. Realising that the whole of suffering humanity could not be operated on, the surgeon set out to find some agent that would take the poisonous waste products out of the Intestines without interfering with the natural functions of the body. He found that agent in a purified mineral oil, specially refined for internal use. Experiments proved that this purified oil would do what no other oil in tho realm of Nature would do—that it would act as a lubricant and remove waste products without acting as a purgative and weakening the natural digestive fluids. As a result of this simple yet great discovery, it is now a common thing to treat people of all ages in this natural way for constipation and its allied ills. How Purified Mineral Oil Acts. But why is a purified mineral oil different from other oils? may be asked. Olive oil, for instance is an excellent lubricant; but if only a. small dose be given, it is absorbed Jong before it reaches the lower bowel, where it is most needed ; and if a large dose he given, the liver is overworked in trying to digest it. Purified mineral oil—such as “Red C. Paraffin ” —is a lubricant that the system cannot assimilate. It is all but tasteless and odorless, a slight suggestion cf petroleum being its only distinguishing characteristic. It is not, however, in the slightest degree repulsive to the taste. The universal use of laxatives and .purgatives proves the inefficiency of the intestinal tract to meet the demands of modern life. Unfortunately, too, laxatives and purgatives give only the minimum of relief while doing the maximum of harm. They never entirely halt the process of auto-intoxication, but they always weaken the system. A purified mineral oil—such as “Red C. Paraffin”— taken at the right time and under right conditions, simply lubricates a defective drainage system until it becomes effective —a boon to countless sufferers who have been slaves to harmful purgatives. “ Red C. Paraffin ” Relieves Constipation Naturally. In response to a great demand, a tested brand of purified mineral oil for internal use has been placed on the market here under the title of “Red 0. Paraffin,'’ and is now on sale by chemists and storekeepers. Insist on “Red C. Paraffin” always to be sure of results. Substitutes may not be sufficiently pure for internal use. Paraffin” may be taken safely by children and adults. Already thousands of people in Australasia are using it as the natural and effective remedy for constipation—a blessing, as stated, to thousands of sufferers who have been slaves to hurtful means of relief. Endorsed by Well-known Analyst. “Red C. Paraffin” has been analysed by tho well-known analyst Mr Alfred Jackson, whose report statee : “I have made a chemical examination of the sample left here by you for testing, as » result of which I am able to declare it to be a pure mineral oil, which is not inflammable, is not a. food, but is a purified internal lubricant., and thus a natural remedy for constipation.” Every sufferer from constipation or its evil results—every person who wants to break tho habit of harmful purgatives—every man or woman who wishes to add to life by becoming permanently healthier —every mother who knows the vital need of regularity in her children-—should follow the “Red C.
