A suffragette who* was sentenced to seven davs’ imprisonment in connection with the recent raid-in Westminster Abbey left the court shouting; “Wo have no king, but, thank God, wo have Mrs Pankhurst.” ■ , . , Addressing a suffragette meeting at Knightsbriclge, Miss Barbara. Wyllio alleged that the Government deliberately 'tried to make physical and mental wrecks of the imprisoned militants hy food being forcibly administered, therefore they were justified in finding an antidote. In announcing the receipt of several large, donations. Miss Wyllie declared that- they would crush the Government .beneath the weight of their gold. - *

The famous French music-hall singer. Yvette Guilbevt, lias written an open letter to the militant suffragettes, which she recalls her staunch support of their cause. She deplores the pigsent militancy. and says; “You lose your dignity when you lose, self-command- 'You kill, yon assassinate -an admirable cause,”

The police raided the suffragettes’ new headquarters at Totliili -street, \Vcstminster, and seized many documents. Ivy Bon was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment. Bertha, Ryland was arrested for slashing with a chopper Romney’s portrait of a hoy in the Art Gallery at- Birmingham. GUARDING BUILDINGS. LONDON. June 9. (Received dime 10, at 1C am.)
