(Received June 9, at 8.30 a.m.) There is a possibility of n recrudescence of the war. Huerta- has announced- that }vo intends to' blockade the Garranzists at Tampico. Two Mexican gunboats, the Huerta and Mexico, followed by the American cruiser T&coma, have left Tampico. Huerta has ordered the gunboats to seize the cargo of the Cuban steamer Antilla, now on route to Tampico, and consigned to Carranaa.
Th-3 Secretary' of Marine, Mr Daniels, savs there is no chant?© in the policy of the United- States, which will keep Tampico open to the commerce of all nations. HUERTA CHANGES HIS PLANS. WASHINGTON, June 8. (Received June 9, at 10.55 a.m.) Huerta has abandoned his intention to blockade Tampico. He asserts that his desiro is not to interfere with the peace negotiations. Diplomatic circles, however, regard this action as a proof of Huerta's intention to abandon the Presidency whenever arrangements are made for his successor. A MEXICAN SHOT. WASHINGTON, June 8. (Received June 9, at 11.40 a.m.) A drunken Mexican attempted to interfere with the Mexican police, and United States Infantry Lieutenant Houston shot him dead.
General Funston (U.S.A.) reports _ that the Mexican attacked Houston with a knife, therefore the act was justifiable homicide. No further action is considered necessary.
