FRENCH OPINION. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, June 8. The 'Morning Post's' Paris correspondent suggests that the partition of the New Hebrides would cause some apprehension in colonial •circles, because no one in France had a good knowledge of the New Hebrides. The French colonies were settled near the coast, and therefore there was no time to explore the interior, whereas English missionaries travelled throughout the islands. Moreover, France continually changed her officers, and thus the residents were nnablejloTacquire country.
'Le Temps' says that partition is the only logical solution of the difficulty; but it should not be made until France has thoroughly explored the islands.
