BRITISH BULLDOG CLUB
A special general meeting of the Struik Island British Bulldog Club was held last evening for the purpose of altering their rules, m order to increase the number of the committee. The president (Mr C. A. Hutton) was in the chair, and explained to members that since the formation of the club, seven years ago, when a committee of six were quite sufficient to undertake the work of the elub, there had been a large increase in membership, which now totalled 84, and that the increased work in dealing with shows necessitated their increasing the number to 10. Mr J. G. Adair then, formally moved a resolution to that effect, which was seconded by Mr Martin and carried. The following new members of committee were then elected (one to fill the vacancy already existing and four new' ones):—Messrs Blair, M.R.C.V.S., N.Brown,
G. J. Morrall, J. Dunn, J. Foley. At the close of the general meeting a committee meeting was held in answer to a letter from the South Canterbury Kennel Club. It was decided to donate two trophies for competition, to be won twice, and four medals, to be won outright, for a show to be held in October at Tiraaru. It was also resolved to hold an evening lecture on July 6. and, to ask Mr S. Devereus to deliver the same. The matter of a dog show towards the end of the voar was discussed, and it was decided to" call a meeting of all kennel fanciers for Monday, June 9, and that other specialist clubs be asked to send delegates to »ak« arrangements.
