ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
Trooper Blacketock, of the 2nd Mounted Rifles (Taranaki), was kicked on the head by a horse whde shoeing it. He is suffering from a severe _ scalp wound, but his condition is not critical.
An inquest was held at Wellington yesterday concerning the death of Virgil M'Govem, the eighth victim of the Upper Hutt fire and explosion. The coroner (Mr Riddell)' returned a verdict that the deceased died from injuries accidentally received from an explosion of gelignite in Benge and Pratt's store. Michael Khon, a laborer, aged 60, residing at Epsom, employed by the Tramways Company on excavating work close to the rails, was struck by a car this forenoon, and sustained injuries to his head, resulting in death-—Auckland telegram.
