Three. American millionaires are providing the money.] CONTESTS IN AUSTRALIA. SYDNEY, April 26. Fritz Holland last night knocked out "Jimmy" Fri&ton in the ninth round. MELBOURNE, April 26. Milhurn Savior last night knocked out " Nat" Williams in the seventh round. About 100 people assembled to witness the match between Georges Carpentier and George Mitchell, the Bradford amateur, one night last week at the Paris Gymnasium. Mitchell stands 6ft 3m high, and weighs 12st 91b, but the fight was ridiculous. The Englishman's defence was preposterously weak, and he was hurled from side to side of the ring and to the ground. Almost as soon as he stood up he was knocked down again. _ After the fourth palpable knock-down Mitchell still wanted to go on, but his seconds threw in the towel. The contest lasted lmin Gunboat Smith's manager, Jim Buckley, has accepted the terms offered for two matches, one with Georges Carpentier and one with Bombardier Wells, to take place at the Ring, in London. Purses of £5,000 are offered for each bout. The match with Wells will take place. probably only if Smith beats Carpentier.
