OTAGO MOTOR CLUB

The Otago Motor Club -held their monthly meeting in the Jockey Club's Rooms at 8 o'clock last evening. Mr G. ■i. Bullock was in the chair, and in addition to the club captain (Mr W. F. Meek) and the secretary (Mr Thomson) there were 25 members present. The Secretary of the South Canterbury Motor Cycling Club wrote stating their intention' of holding a reliability run at Easter, and inviting all the South Island motor clubs to enter. The proposed route was from Timaru to Christchurcli and back, on Easter Saturday; Sunday in Timaru; to Dunedin and back, Easter Monday.—Received, and letter to be sent to secretary tendering services when motorists in Dunedin. Mr B. B. Couston wrote with regard to the opening of the Brighton road to motor traffic.—Mr Bullock said that he had no doubt that the road would be opened before Easter. With regard to the coming speed trials, it was decided that' the rule of the road be adhered to in the races, and that competitors be disqualified for looking back, except when with 100 yards of the turning post. * It was decided that a new danger signal be erected at Look-out Point; as the old one was scarcely recognisable. ' The secretary was requested to write to the Waikouaiti County Council drawing attention to the encroachment of gorse hedges on the road obstructing the view of motorists. It was decided to hold a club" run to Harbor Cone, via "the high road, on March 14.
