THE WAIHI STRIKE.
WAIHI, January‘2o. The Waihi Miners’ Union Hall case has commenced. The old union, who are affiliated with the Federation of Labor, are claiming £SOO damages and possession of the hall from the new union, who are registered under the Arbitration Act, the latter having taken possession after the riot towards the end of 1912. The old union are asking also that the name of Edward Summers, a trustee and a member of the Arbitration Union, who refuses to agree to the hall being vested in the Federation, be removed from the register as a joint owner, and that the names of two others he substituted as trustees.
