THE BAND CONTEST
Sixteen A grade and, 13 B grade bands hare entered for the Exhibition brass bands’ contest, which is to be held at Auckland from February 9 to February 14. There dro 400 entries for the solo events, and the total prize money is £650. The following bands will compete A Grade.—Kaikorai, Westport, Auckland Garrison, Waihi, Invercargill, Dominion, Palmerston, Wellington Tramways, Tnvercaraill Garrison, Auckland Regimental, Wellington City,_ Wanganui, Queen Alexandra. Gisborne, Woolston, Kilda Municipal, Timaru Regimental, Wanganui Garrison. B- Grade. Wellington Waterside Workers, Linwood, DargavDle. Whangarei. Marton. Hamilton, Onehunga, Taranaki Rifles, Dannevirke, Napier, Hastings, Invercargill, Hibernian, Hawera.
