SALVAGE SALE
CARGO EX TYRONE. The second sale cf cargo salvaged from the steamer Tyrone,, which as now slowly disintegrating between the. pinnacles of rock outside Otago Heads upon which she struck some months ago, attracted a splendid gathering of buyers to Park, Reynolds’s rooms this afternoon. The goods offered varied from frying'pans to sheep dip, and from whisky to motor car chare is. Early in the sale an Albion motor chassis (for delivery van) —complete except for tank —was started at £SO, and ran quickly to. £2lO. at which figure it was purcha.6ed on , behalf of R. Hudson and Co. A second of tho same- type, but minus , a wheel and mudguards, was knocked down for £195 to Mr J. Maxwell, of Momona. Five, quarter-casks of Dewar's whisky brought os 3d a gallon ; one quarter-cask of Thom and Cameron’s, 6s a gallon ; two octaves of Dewar's. 6s 3d a gallon; one octavo of Thom and Cameron’s, 6s 3d a. gallon ; and two octaves M.C. blend, 4s a gallon. There were offered in all 102 lots, and the sale was proceeding at '3 p.m.
