By-law Case.—William Carter was Charged that, on the 3rd January, at DunJedin, he did. go upon the railway station 'for the purpose of soliciting custom or hire.—Defendant pleaded not guilty.— 'Evidence was given by Constables Bandy .end M'Millan.—"Defendant said the con- : stable bad made a mistake, .and that he went on the platform to tell a man to tell a porter to bring out his luggage.— John Conn gave evidence for the defence. —His Worship said he did net think the constable had made a mistake, nn-d imposed a fine of 10s, with costs (7s). Defence Cases.—For failing to Tender Qje personal service required under the Defence Act, Henry R. Hancock was fined 20s, with costs (7s); George Handvaode £2, with coste (7s) ; Aaron Davis 20s. •with costs (7s); Robert Weir 20s. with costs (7s); William Weir 20s. with costs (7s); Henry C. Ravenswood £2. with costs (7s);- Harold E. Watt 10s. with costs (7s); John Smith 10s, with costs (7s); Edward Hunter 10s, with costs (7s): James Jephson 10s, with cost* (7s); George Brown 10s, with costs (7s). on each of two informations ; Stanley Lawson. Michael Malrin, Joseph Golden," and William O. Brown were each convicted and discharged. For failing to register. George Finuerty and George Shaw were each convicted and ordered to pay costs (7s). JLaughton Perry was charged on two informations with disturbing parades. Lieutenant J.. S. Reid gave evidence as to accused's conduct on the 24th November and 6th December.—A fine of 20c, with -costs (7s), was imposed on each charge. "
