SALES OX 'CHANGE: THIS DAY. Auckland.—Saxon, Is: Ross, 6s 9d to 7s; Talisman. 41s 6d; Waihi, 51s 9d to 525; New Zealand Insurance, £5 15s. LONDON WOOL SALES. Messrs Dalgety and Co. report having received the following cablegram front their head office, dated London, January 17 :—" Wool sales continue firm, and lately-reported rates are fully maintained, 64*s costing 2s 4^d." GRAIN AND PRODUCE. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report as follows : —We held our usual weekly auction sale of grain and produce 3t our stores to-day, when values ruled as under : Oats.—There is very little business passing. The market remains quiet, and values show a further weakening. The only outlet at present is for local feed purposes, and a few choice lines of heavy Gartons aTe taken for milling. We quote :—Prime milling Gartons, 2s; good to best feed, Is lOd to 2s; medium, la 7d to la 9d; inferior, from la 6d per bushel (sacks extra). Wheat.—Although there has been a strong inquiry for both milling and fowl wheat, very little haft been coming under offer. In the absence of supplies, buyers have been compelled to take medium milling wheat to fill fowl wheat requirements. We quote:—Prime milling velvet, 4s 3d to 4s 4d; Tuscan and red -wheats, 4s Id to 4s 2d.

Potatoes.— The market at present is glutted, and salea ere difficult to effect. Auckland potatoes, ■which, have been arriving freely, are out of favor, and only choice, freshly-dug Oamaru potatoes are in request at from £3 10s to £4, while Auckland potatoes have been sold aa low as £1 per ton- > Chaff.—Consignments have been coming to hand, freely," with the result that the market at present is oveoteupplied and values have receded. Choice quality is in most demand. Medium add light are sot so readily placed. W« quote:—Choioe black oaten sheaf, to £4 103; bast white oaten sheaf, £4 6s to £4 7b 6d j medium to good, £3 15s to £4 2s 6d per ton (sacks extra). PROPERTY SALES. Messrs Park, Reynolds, Ltd,, at their first auction sale of property for 'the year, disposed of part of sections 42 and 50, block 32, Dttnedin, containing 36.1 poles, with a frontage to George street of 50ft, on which is a comfortable house of seven rooms, for £1,100; and section 44, Extension of Kirkland Hill, containing 1 rood 37.5 poles, with the house of six Tooms thereon, for £295. Another property in Josephine street, Caversham, was submitted, but the price offered did not quite reach the vendor's idea of value.
