CITY POLICE COURT. {Before J. R. Bartholomew, Esq., S.MA Drunkenness.—William Sullivan, who had one previous conviction against him was lined ss. in default 43 hours. William .John M'Kay pleaded guilty to the charge.—Sub-inspector Fouhy said that accused had a long list- of previous convictions against him.—A fine of 10s was imposed, in default 48 hours. A first offender was lined ss. in default 43 hours. Breach of the Waco.—"lohn Sullivan was charged with using insulting language in the Triangle, with intent to provoke a breach of the peace.—As accused expressed sorrow for his actions the .Magistrate said he did not wish to deal harshly with him.—-A fine of 20s was imposed, in default seven days. Theft.—-Frederick Charles ' Walker was charged that on or about the 11th August, at Ohristehuroh, he did steal from" the railway left-luggage office, one gladstone bag and contents, to the value of £7 10s, the property of one P. Power.—Accused was remanded to appear at Christchurch to-morrow.
