Invercargill and Intermediate Towns.— 7.30 a.m. and 3.45 p.m. at the C.P.0.; late letters, 8 a.m. and 8.20 a.m. (train), A p.m. and 4.25 p.m. (train). For United Kingdom (duo London January 30) and Australian states and New Guinea (via Wellington), Continent of Europe, Ceylon, India, Japan, China, Straits Settlements, Mauritius, South. Africa, Mediterranean ports, etc.. per north express, at 8 p.m. .on Wednesday. Mails for the United States of 'America, Canada, etc., now leave Auckland (per Makurn) at noon nn Thursday. The direct steamer Coiinthic now leaves Wellington at 3 p.m. to-morrow. CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS.' Thursday, December 25 (Christmas Day), will be observed as a close holiday. Mails usually despatched on that day will 'bo closed at 8 p.m. to-morrow (Wednesday). Supplementary mails will be made up on Thursday, 25th hist., at 6.30 a.m. The midnight clearances of the pillar boxes i will be made as usual to-morrow. There will be the usual delivery by the lettercarrierß to-morow at 2 p"m." and also a counter delivery at the Chief Post Office between 7 and 8 p.m. Friday, December 26 (Boxing Day).— The usual despatch of mails will be made up to 8 a»m.
