DUNDAS STREET CHURCH

SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY. There was a large gathering in tho Dundas Street Primitive Methodist Sunday School Hall last evening to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the school. The Rev. T. A. Pybus, who presided, congratulated tho superintendent (Mr w! M. Roberts) and his staff upon the good results achieved in the Sunday school,"and eulogised tho conductor (Mr R. H. Young), whose services as teacher cf singing had extended over 14 years.

Mr F. W. Parker road the annual report and balance-sheet, which showed that the Sunday school had been an important branch of tho church for 55 years. There were 200 pupils on the roll, and the average attendance was 140. There had been 15 changes in the teaching staff during the year owing to various causes, but the vacancies had been filled from time to time, and the school was now fully staffed' Special reference was made to the loss sustained by the death of Mr James Cable, who had worked hard for the children during his long association with the Sunday scnool. Since tho last anniversary the long-talked-of union with the sister Church had become an accomplished fact, and tho hope was expressed that the step taken would be the means of making the New Zealand Methodist Church a greater power for good. Aretes of thanks were accorded the teaching staff, the members of which wore congratulated upon the progress made during the year.

A programme rf songs, recitations, dialogues, etc,, followed, and during an interval Mr W. M.
