SPECIAL PRIZES. The following is a list of special prizes won at the Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s Summer Show:— The Now Zealand Sheep Breeders’ Association (South Island) gold medal, valued at £5 ss, for tho best Border Leicester ram, over 18 months and under 28 months. All sheep competing for tho medal to be from registered flocks—Mr John M'Kercher, "Woodlands. Iho New Zealand Sheep Breeders’ Association (South Island) gold medal, valued at £o os, for the best Lincoln ram over 18 months and under 28 months. All sheep competing for tho medal to be from registered flocks— New Zealand and Australian Land Company, Moeraki. Messrs Dawsons’ challenge shield, valued at -10 guineas, to bo competed for in tho cattle classes under the following conditions ;—The shield to be won three times, not necessarily consecutively, before becoming the absolute property of the winner, and to be awarded to tho exhibitor gaining the largest number of points—Mr F. E. Hellyer, North-east Harbor. , The society’s special prize of £3 3s to the exhibitor gaining tho most points in Shorthorn cattle, where two or more competitors—Riccartou Estate, Riccarton. The "Waitaki Dairy Company’s special prize of £3 3s to the first prize winner in Ayrshire cattle—Messrs Cowan Bros., Maheno. ( The Taieri and Peninsula Milk Supply Company’s prize cf £2 2s for milk cow of any breed giving the most butter-fat —Mr F. E. Hellver, North-east Harbor. Tho T aieri and Peninsula Milk Supply Company’s prize of £3 3s to the first prize winner in dairy cows—Mr AV. Hellyer, Anderson Bay. The AVaitaki Dairy Company’s special prize of £2 2s to the first prize winner in Class 101, Jersey cattle—Mr E. E. Hellyer, North-cast Harbor. Messrs Briscoe and Co.’s trophy, valued at £3 3s, for tho host roadster hack up to 11 stone—Mr J. Jenkins, Oamaru. The Draught Horse Breeders’ challenge cup. valued at 20 guineas, for the best yearling or two-year-old colt; to be won twice by the same owner, not necessarily in succession—Mr Jas. Patrick, Ontram. _ Tire Clydesdale Horse Society of tho I nited .Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland offered a gold medal valued at £5 for tho best Clydesdale marc, any age, registered in the British or New Zealand Clydesdale Horse Society’s stud books—Air Jas. Patrick, Ontram. Mr A. Ainge’s challenge cup, valued at 2o guineas, for tho host Clydesdale colt or filly, three years or under, bred and owned by exhibitor. Tho cup must bo won three times, not necessarily in succession, and each time by a different animal—Air P. AV. Borrie, AVaihao Downs. Alessrs AA'atson’s challenge cup, of the value of 25 guineas, for the best group of four fillies, three years old and under, bred and owned by exhibitor. Ihe cup must be won three times, not necessarily in succession—John Callander, Allanton.
TJio Forbury Park Trotting Club’s special prize of £3 3s for best dog-cart horse over I.s.3—Messrs A. and W. Gillanders, 'Waddington, Christchurch. The Forbury Park Trotting Club’s special prize of £3 3s for best buggy horso over 15 hands, to be shown in harness and driven—Mr Thomas Lochhoad, Balclutha. , Mr Roderick Mackenzie’s special prize of £5 5s for the best two-year-old filly, bred by exhibitor—Mr 'J. A. Sutlierland, Momona. Mr C. H. Street’s special prize of £3 3s for best yearling colt (colonial bred) —Mr Jas. Patrick, Outram. Mr C. K. Street’s special prize of £2 2s for best spring-cart horse up to locwt.—Messrs Spencer and Dunklcy, Ltd., Dunedin. Mr A. Stewart’s special prize of £2 2s for the best spring-van horse up to 20cwt—Messrs Johnson and Robertson, South Dunedin. The, President’s special prize of £3 3s for the best tradesman’s turn-out Mr D.
