Boillis, although acquitted, is still virtually imprisoned, not being allowed to leave the house he is in, which soldiers continually guard. The Government are considering tbo question of an appeal, while the Black Hand gang threaten to murder Beillis. Tho latter is inundated with music-hall offers, nnd a- firm of Chicago film makers have offered him £2.000 to pose for a series of pictures. His acceptance, however, is most unlikely. The members of a wealthy committee of local Jews are providing for the future of Beillis. When interviewed, Beillis said ho was treated abominably while in prison. For 30 months he was kicked and beaten by his gaolers, and the authorities seemed anxious for him to die.
