A BRAVE LAD. In recognition of bis bravery in saving three people from drowning. "Trooper G. P. Boswell. of tho Imperial Cadet Yeomanry (City of London), was. at London Guildhall, presented hv Alderman Sir Charles Wakefield (lion, colonel of the regiment) with a gold watch In making the presentation Sir Charles Wakefield said Trooper Boswell's act wa.s one of conspicuous bravery. On 'September 1, while in camp at Hcasham, Norfolk, he saw two men in difficulties in the sea, and the wife of one of them who went to the rescue also began to sink. Boswell dived into the sea. and succeeded in bringing a \\ tj lm} to safety. When congratulated at the time upon his courage. Boswell, who is only 17. replied: "Anyone in our regiment would have done the same it he had the chance " Boswell was also presented with a sum of money in recognition of his bravorv, but be. rendered his deed the more meritorious Dj handing the mouev over to an orphan age-

A very necessary Act for the protection of children has come into force in Eng-land-the Children (Employment Abroad) Act. Lip till now, remarks the ' Gentlewoman, thougn considerable attention has been directed to the way in which child actors arc treated at homo, there were no restrictions -upon the employment of children abroad up to a certain age.
