A VIOLENT DEPUTATION. THE MINISTER'S ANSWER. Press Association—By Telegraph— CopyrightLONDON". November 15. The Trades Council, representing 20,000 organised Bristol workers, sent amputation to the Irish Secretary, and in violent language demanded the release of the Dublin strikers. Mr Widdicombe. vice-president of the council, in the course of a bitter speech, charged the Government, and particularly Mr with direct responsibility for brutal niuTcleris in Ireland. The Irish Secretary replied that ho interpreted the accusation as tantamount to calling the Government and the authorities scoundrels. (Mr Widdicombe: Hear, hear.) If su.-h wotc Mr Widdicombe's opinion it was useless for the deputation to approach him (the Irish Secretary). He denied thn.t the police were at, the'call of the employers, and assured tho deputation that a judicial inquiry would be held. DOCKERS STRIKE IN SYMPATHY. LONDON. November 15. The dockers at Liverpool have, refused to coal the steamer Ella, on which strikebreakers have been housed a.t Dublin. THE EMPLOYERS' ANSWER. LONDON. November 15. The Dublin employers have issued a manifesto in which it is staled that, the largo majority of the strikers were not locked out. but left their work of their own accord, and refused to carry out their ordinary duties No question as to wages, hours, and conditions had been raised. The' Transport Union wero the only union to which tho employers objected' and that was because their officials openly counfiehYd tho men to break their agreements. Tho Irish Executive invited f>e employers to suggest modifications in regard to Sir George Askwith's report.
