NEW YORK, September 19. (F.eceived September 20, at 12.30 p.m.) At Bloomington, in the State of Indiana, a man named Mark Hurst, a stonemason, awakening in the middle of the night, summoned his family, consisting of three daughters and their" mother, to his Vtedroom. He then announced that " ali must die," and threw a stick of dvnamite under tbe bed.
With a deafening rc;\r th<; house collapsed. One daughter w.is blown to bits, an<*. the two others died of the- injuries they received. The mother escaped. ' ■ The -windows of the houses in the neighborhood -were broken by the shook.
