At the annual meeting of the Wellington Woollen Company to-day the chairman referred to tho company's record for the year, and tho meeting passed a dividend of 8 per cent, Mr Warburton criticised the balance-sheet, urging tho appointment of auditors by Government to investigate the company's accounts. He criticised the balance-sheet item by item, and suogesled amalgamation with the Kaiapoi Company tor mutual interest. The chairman caJle'd Mr Warburton to order for personal references. The meeting impatiently applauded tho latter in order to silence him. The chairman said that Mr Warburton's criticisms were calculated to do harm to (he company, who were in a thoroughly sound financial position, .and their prospects were never better.
