Wynne .stated that- the secretary _to the Attorney-General was of opinion that the employment of an Indian doctor on the Orontes was not contrary to the Postal Act nor to the'company's' cntraet. Neither himself nov the Ministry, however, approved, of what tho. company did. (Received August 21, at 9.55 a.m.) The Orient S.S. Company have, engaged a Victorian doctor to replace the Indian on the a.rrival of the Orontes at Adelaide. [What the company did was to engage a highly-educated and qualified Indian graduate because no othor doctor was available. —Ed. E.S.]
