At a special meeting of tho New Zealand Alliance Executive, held at Wellington yesterday, the following reoslution was adopted :—" That tho executive of the New Zealand Alliance have learned with much surprise and regret that their resolution repudiating tho postcard concerning Bible-in-echooLs and Prohibition has been understood in many quarters as disclaiming the responsibility while praeticalljr approving of the thing itself. ' The intention of the executive w-as to dissociate the alliance in every eense from the postcard in question, and they strongly disapproved both of the matter of the card and of the manner in which it appears to have been circulated. They would resent any attempt to force members of the alliance as such to take either one side or the other on the Bible-in-State-schools question, and deplore the base attack which, professedly in the interest of temperance reform, has been made upon the supporters of the Bible in State Schools .League. » its l [ be s ta ? m comes a calm.
