A protest was entered against the winner on the ground of alleged interference with Monorail. The stewards sustained the protest, and disqualified Pearv, but being of the opinion that Devitt, the jockey, was unable to control his horse, in flicted no punishment on him Brighton Hurdles.- of 275sovr. 2m.— Prophet 1, Surplus- 2, T<; Wlieroa 3. Scratched: Hoang.i, Hyperion. Whimper. Five furlongs from home Prophet and Sandy Paul went to the front, the Jailor lallmg at the fence near the mile and a half post.
