DUNEDIN ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY

Tho 25th Annual Meeting of tho Dunedin Orchestral Society (registered) was held on Wednesday night in tho society's half, Rattray street. Mr T. P. Williamson was in the chair, and there was a good attendance of members. The balance-sheet showed that the past season had been financially satisfactory, the subscribers'.roll having been increased slightly over the figures for 1911. The report disclosed that tho year's work had boon most satisfactory from a musical standpoint. Reference was ruado to the fact that the first concert ever given by the, society was held on April 20, ISBS-—just 25 years ago. It was decided to eele- ; brate the event by a social evening, and, as a concerto testimony to the progress of the society, to endeavor to send tho subscribers' list Tip to .a record figure Eulogistic reference was made to the fact that throughout tho whole of the society's existence, the present conductor, Mr Jas. Coombs, had rendered UDtiring and devoted service. 'The election of officers for the ensuing season resulted as follows (in. every-case re-elected) : —President, Hon. 'Tiros. Fergus; vice-presidents—Mr J. '. Moloney and Mr W. 0. Miller; hon. ! treasurer, Mr A. A. Finch ; hon. secretary, Mr Geo. W. fteid; librarian, Mr L. C. Pindlay; committee—Messrs C. G. 0. Naumann. T.
