THE ENGLISH LAND INQUIRY
The 'Soulh Wales Daily New 6' Icarus on good authority that the report of •the Land Inquiry Committee will bo ready for Mr Lloyd George early next month, and that the chief recommendations sire: (1) The establishment of Land Courts for the adjustment of disputes regarding fixity of rent, the renewal of leases, and the price of sites required for ••public purposes; (2) A legal minimum wage for agricultural workers; . (3) State grants for housing schemes in necessitous rural areas on the lines of the Irish Laborcre Act*. Municipalities, it is further recommended, shall have simplified methods of acquiring land, a,nd Courts Lave power regarding lease renewals, while over all a Land and Housing Department, independent of the Local Goverrrme'hfc Board, is proposed.
