RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES. [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, March 20. A fresh southerly militated against fart times at Riccarton this morning. Sanguinary beat Lady Nolan over seven furlongs in Imin 35sec. Masterpiece left 10 furlongs behind in 2min 15sec, going well. Heatherbrae beat Brown Owl over six furlongs in Imin 16 2-ssec: a smart performance. Peg and Mowbray were associated in seven furlongs, run in Imin 32sec. the former running on at the finish, Autnmmis gave Coroniform a start and beating over seven furlings in Imin 30 2-ssec, Autummis galloping impressively. A entura went six furlongs in Imiu 1.8 l-ssec. Cheddar and Kooya were together at the end of a mile, run in Imin 46seC. Emperador and Historiette brushed over the last four furlongs of a circuit in o2 g sec. Query did a mile nicely in Imin 42sec. The Otago Lawn Tennis Association's animal tournament will commence at the association's courts. Anderson's Bay, tomorrow. The following competitors must he prepared to play at 9 o’clock sharp: Messrs Peake. R. Wood, Guy, J. C. Anderson. Laurenson. A. Taylor, A. Nicholson, Osbourne, Cramond, W. R. Sinclair. W. A Scott, Wilkie. S. G. M'Dougall, Lindsay, S. X. Brown, and Tregear. All other players must be ready to play if called upon at 9.50. Any player who may not- be ready to take the courts within 10 minutes of being called upon will be scratched at the discretion of the committee. In the afternoon interest centres round the championship events, particularly in the contests between Hamilton and Wilkie, S. N.’Brown and R. S. Brown, Peauee and Taylor. It is worthy of note that this is the first occasion on which the Brown brothels have ever met each other in a. championship event, and there is considerable speculation as to the result. SWIMMING. The annual swimming sports of the Otago Boys’ High School were held yesterday afternoon at Kaikorai. The •140 Yards and 50 Yards Senior .Championships were won easily by G. Lcwin. This is ihe second occasion upon which ho has rvon the Quarter-mile Championship of the school-. The 50 Yards Championship was a new' race this year, and was for a trophy given by the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association. The following are the results
