LODGE MEETING.
The Hope of Dunedin, Lodge, 1.0. G.T., held their weekly meeting on Friday efflaing in the social hall of the old Fire Brigade Station, Bro. Brennan, 0.T., presiding. The Lily of the Valley Lodge visited 1 officially and received a I hearty welcome. Bro. Paterson, the newly-elected’District Deputy, also received a welcome. One candidate was initiated. After recess the item of the evening, exhibition of articles that had been bought in Dunedin for sixpence, was conducted. Forty-six entries were received, and after the exhibits had been viewed a ballot was taken, Bros. M'Kinley and Morrison acting as scrutineers. Bro. Bentley’s exhibit was awarded first prize, and Bro. Davidson’s exhibit second prize. Afterwards the miscellaneous articles were sold by Bro. Bentley, acting as Dutch auctioneer, and realised l?3s, which went to the lodge funds. Harmony was contributed by Bros. Bentley, Paterson, Purdie, Burton, and Sister Dunn. The reports of the - visits made by the lodge to the Men’s Temperance Social Club and the Lily of the Valley wore, given and approved, and 1 it was resolved to visit the Rescue. Bro. Burton, of Wellington, was present, and received a welcome. The vote to the visitors was responded to by Bro. Beveridge, C’.T. (Lily of the Valley), Bro. Paterson, D.C.T.. Bro. Burton (Star of Wellington), and Bro. Weston (Rescue).
