Frederick Rose, the postman at Thorpe, has walked 130,000 mike during hie 27 years' record of duty there. His earlier record of 12 rears adds another 50,688 miles, and by the time that- he retires in 1920 he reckons that he will have walked at lenst 52,000 milos uwa—a total of 232,688 miles.
