Mr" Taft owed "more to David Harum thaji to Homer or the Hebrew scribes. Professor M'Xaughton now apologises, saying ho implied nothing personal, but was speaking simply as a classical scholar. The American Press hare bitterly attacked Professor M'Naughton.
