Jno Welsh Commusioners* have intimated that those, insured under the Act must choose between the panels and the outside doctors. A majority of the Scottish oanels will work on the competitive basis. (Received January 3," at 9.55 a.m.) Addressing the Insurance Advisory Committee the Chancellor of the Exchequer (Mr Lloyd George) said that, while the public regarded the revised terms offered to the doctors as being generous, and the attitude of the doctors was a tacit admission that the terms fairly met the circumstances, yet they'had latterly shifted the controversy from the question of remuneration to something called." lav control " No other profession objected to' administrative control by a lay body responsible for payment, and he instanced the legal and the teaching professions. He added that arrangements were being made to deal with areas where the panels of doctor,? were inadequate for the services that would bo required by those insured under the Act.
