WAIKOUAITI SHOW

There wore over dOO entries for this show, held yesterday ou the Domain. The ground served tho purpose admirably, and there was a large attendance : in fact, the show had in it all the elements of a marked success, and nothing worked hostilely but the showery, weather. The Waikouaiti Band played during the day, and the show vns deemed worthy of the presence of " the greatest lady exponent- of jiu-jitoi in the world.” Mr Duncan M'ttregor (president), Messrs A. S. Orbcll and P. ] oomey (vice-presidents), and Mr John Diack (secretary) attended to the general arrangements ‘in a satisfactory way, helped by a strong committee, and Air James M'Gill worked well as Press steward.

Fiist prizes in Jerseys and Alderneys went to P. Toomev. Airs Brooks, and B. Riddle.

In shorthorns the winners were J. Alaxwe I, D. Grant, P. Ireland, and J. Frew. A special prize, presented by Mr A. W. Douglass lor the best foal by Garthland. was \von_ by Air John Eendall. Air W. Mhrte’s special prize, for the best progeny of Glenkenich's Pride, was won by Alessrs Kenyon Bros. A competition for the cow most suitable for dairying purposes drew forth three entries, and the special prize offered by Air D. Shaucl was won by Air P. Ireland.
