The King has extended ihe Sandringham Estate by the purchase of ; Shernbourne Hall Farm, which comprises 'between 6GO and 700 acre?.- The farm is in'two nearly equal parts, which lie to the east and west of the village of Shernbourne. Oil the western part is the hall, a fine old Tudor mansion/ with castellated walls, formerly surrounded by a moat, a portion of which has, however, been filled in. The pi it eis said to be about £12,000, but this is. not officially confirmed. His Majesty now owns the' whole of the parish of Shcmbourne.
